WestNGN is working to create digital navigators in your community. With the idea of neighbor helping neighbor, WestNGN is working across the region to help communities learn and grow with digital tools.
Community Classes
WestNGN will work with your community to help provide lessons on desired knowledge around digital literacy, from using a computer to avoiding scams.
Pass to Earn
Pass to Earn is a WestNGN program aimed at connecting folks with a device after they have demonstrated digital proficiency.

WestNGN offers pass-to-earn events for individuals across the region to help gain access to a device. WestNGN Connects ones who don't pass with digital learning opportunities, as we are committed to connecting as many folks as possible in the region.

Drop in Hours
Land of Sky Region Council WestNGN program works existentially with community members in the region to help build the skills residents need to participate in the digital economy. If you or someone you know needs digital skills help, WestNGN has community drop-in hours listed on our website calendar for digital navigation assistance.
Digital Education Resources
The Grow with Google – Learn Skills site offers free online courses and certificates to help people gain digital and career skills in areas like IT, data analytics, and marketing. It’s designed for anyone looking to upskill, start a new career, or improve employability.
The Digital Skills Library is a free online hub offering curated resources to help adults build digital skills for work, learning, and daily life. It includes lessons, videos, and tools on topics like online safety and technology use.
The GCFGlobal Computers section offers free, easy-to-follow lessons for beginners to learn basic computer skills. It covers topics like hardware, software, operating systems, internet use, and online safety through clear tutorials and visuals, making it ideal for anyone new to using computers.
The Senior Planet Tech Help program provides free one-on-one technology support for older adults via Zoom, with assistance available in English, Spanish, and Mandarin. It also offers tech tip videos, a glossary of terms, and a safe online community for seniors to connect and learn. Sessions can be scheduled by calling the Senior Planet Hotline.
The Cyber-Seniors Free Tech Help program offers older adults free one-on-one tech support, daily webinars, and recorded lessons to build digital skills. Assistance is available via phone or video in English, Spanish, and French, covering topics like internet safety, digital literacy, and online learning.
The Digital Navigator Program at Haywood Community College offers free help with devices, affordable internet, and digital skills. It provides in-person classes, online Northstar lessons, one-on-one support, and guidance on low-cost internet options to improve community digital access.
The Digital Skills for Job Readiness program by Goodwill NWNC offers free in-person training to help individuals build essential computer skills for employment. The classes cover topics like computer basics, internet use, email, and operating systems, and participants can attend single sessions or the full 8-part series to improve their job readiness and career prospects.
